What is AP?
AP (Advanced Placement) is a program developed by the College Board that offers university-level courses and exams to high school students. The program currently includes 38 subjects across seven major areas, including the arts, English, history and social sciences, mathematics and computer science, sciences, and world languages and cultures.
Why AP Exams Matter
AP exams are widely recognized as an important measure of academic achievement and college readiness. Strong AP results can demonstrate a student’s ability to succeed in challenging, university-level coursework and strengthen their academic profile.
Many highly selective U.S. universities value strong AP performance, particularly scores of 4 or 5. Depending on the university and program, qualifying AP scores may also be eligible for university credit or advanced placement, allowing students to begin higher-level coursework earlier.

AP exams are administered annually in May over approximately two weeks. Students generally need to register several months in advance.
