What is IB?
The IB (International Baccalaureate) Programme is an internationally recognized education system developed by the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) for students aged 3–19. It offers a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum designed to foster academic excellence, global awareness, independent learning, and essential life skills.

What Does IB Include?
The IB Diploma Programme includes six subject groups: Studies in Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and the Arts.
Students select one subject from each group, with three subjects typically taken at Higher Level (HL) and the remaining three at Standard Level (SL). Students are also required to complete the IB Core.

Course Structure
IB courses place a strong emphasis on academic depth and breadth, helping students develop critical thinking, independent learning, and a global perspective. Beyond academic knowledge, the programme prepares students for university study and future career development.

Core Components
In addition to the six academic subjects, IB Diploma Programme (DP) students are required to complete three core components:
TOK (Theory of Knowledge)
EE (Extended Essay)
CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service)
Together, these core components help students develop critical thinking, independent research, personal growth, and social responsibility.
The IB Diploma Programme has a maximum score of 45 points. Each of the six subjects is graded on a scale of 1–7, contributing up to 42 points. Students can earn up to 3 additional points through TOK and the Extended Essay.
A minimum of 24 points is generally required to earn the IB Diploma, provided that all other diploma requirements are met. Many highly competitive universities and programs expect significantly higher scores, often around 35–40+ points.
